Do you know some of the nutritional properties of one of the Portuguese's most popular snacks?

The nutritional composition of lupins includes an appreciable amount of protein for a food of plant origin, as well as fiber, which helps to control satiety and reduce appetite. The presence of fiber also helps regulate fat and sugar levels in the blood and improves intestinal transit. This legume is therefore an option to consider for a healthy snack.

Lupins also contain vitamins, especially folic acid, and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc.

However, we mustn't forget the high salt content of lupins, which comes from the brine in which they are preserved. Because of this, before eating them, rinse them under running water or soak them for a while.
