Diagnosis Inflammation

Chronic inflammation makes you fat and your difficulty in losing weight may be due to a generalized inflammatory process that needs to be reduced.

People undergoing an inflammatory process are more likely to gain weight and the more overweight they are, the more inflammation they develop, leading to a cycle that is very difficult to break.

Therefore, in order to lose weight in a healthy and effective way, it is crucial to reduce the level of inflammation in the body.

What's more, being overweight is not only an important aesthetic issue for self-esteem, but also, and above all, a health problem.

Excess body fat is really harmful because it produces inflammatory substances that lower defenses and contribute to the development of various diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormonal changes, atherosclerosis and, consequently, increased mortality.

Although chronic inflammation is initially asymptomatic, there are some symptoms that, together with certain elevated blood parameters, can indicate an inflammatory condition:

  • overweight;
  • swelling;
  • localized fat;
  • tiredness and lack of energy;
  • sleep disorders;
  • increased appetite;
  • digestive difficulties;
  • constipation;
  • premature ageing;
  • insulin resistance;
  • high cholesterol, among others.

In order to assess the body's inflammatory state, a rigorous clinical diagnosis is required to analyze the inflammation index and work in a multidisciplinary manner in various areas.

This Inflammation Diagnosis includes clinical blood tests which, together with other complementary assessments, allow us to understand the degree of inflammation in your body and how we should act so that weight loss is effective.

This Inflammation Index Assessment therefore includes:

  • blood tests at a laboratory of your choice;
  • subsequent Diagnostic Consultation with Prof. Teresa Branco, Physiologist in Weight Management. In this consultation, in addition to assessing the results of the clinical analyses, a detailed assessment of the physiological, behavioral, nutritional and lifestyle profile will also be carried out, in order to identify the factors associated with the difficulty in Weight Management as accurately and in as much detail as possible.
  • After the Diagnostic Consultation, the strategy to be implemented next will be drawn up.

Reduce inflammation to lose weight and gain health.
