Scientific and empirical evidence has clearly shown that
the pandemic we are currently experiencing is having a significant negative impact on everyone’s mental health. Symptoms such as insomnia, irritability, low mood, and anxiety have emerged in more than half of the Portuguese population.
The emergence of emotional eating patterns—in which people seek to reward and comfort themselves through food (only to immediately feel guilty and unable to cope with themselves and the situation)—is becoming increasingly common and leads to significant weight gain. Maintaining balance in these circumstances isn’t easy, but it is possible!
In this live session, Dr. Rita Almeida, our clinical psychologist, and Dr. Teresa Branco, a weight management specialist, will explain some strategies we can use to maintain emotional balance and, as a result, keep our bodies, our weight, and our self-esteem in check.
